Playing with food: the early years

I have never actively learned how to cook. To my then-knowledge, my kiddo-self never actively took part in cooking either. So, in my teens I was rather surprised to find out that cooking came easy for me.

I suspect, this has something to do with it all:

Later in life I realized that pecking at the potato-salad-in-progress, decorating cakes and other no-boiling-or-baking-involved-activities must have played a role as well.
