So I have been playing ... (104). Completing Dragonfall.

I shall exploit the header space to boost the signal of our GM's Gofundme campaign: https://www.gofundme.com/blueberrycreekrecovery

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As stated in the latest one-offs roundup, I'd put my playtime under strict limitations to give more priority for writing&editing time. Still, earlier this spring I snuck in some sessions to scratch an old itch: there was some unfinished business in Berlin. Just like with the first campaign, I had kept playing non-stop until quite late in the game, and taken a breather once I ran into a challenge that took more effort to resolve; the breather then grew into proper hiatus. Indeed, my last Dragonfall session before the break was over a year ago.

After failing to pick the most optimal save to continue from, I returned to the beginning of Apex Rising mission, dedicating some time to the trial-and-error (mostly error).

So I have been playing ... (103). Sneaky one-offs

I shall exploit the header space to boost the signal of our GM's Gofundme campaign: https://www.gofundme.com/blueberrycreekrecovery

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The writing front has been really busy lately, and to better manage my limited energy, I self-imposed a strict gaming diet. In fact, my last proper game session was from before going to England. Now that the "Seeker" chapters clean-up process is mostly slow and steady, but some parts can drain my brain, I've been sneaking in more and more playtime.

I usually play "Tower of guns" without recording (just like I play FTL and Heroes III), but sometimes I run into stuff I'd wan to to have on record. So I record some. This particular run was my first after the long "fast", so there was a lot of the Noobvision vibe to capture.

Countryside logs #24

[semi-standard copy-paste intro]
In early April I set out to the country with a budget for four-or-so months and a plan to get some creative work done. My works and musings are getting captured in random little video bits every now and then. I am posting these videos and occasional other tidbits in roughly week-size chunks.

I observe a bunch of little things about the house and by the river. Also, chimney sweep.

I observe the regular little things in my final week, and get ready to move back to town. I also harvest all my potatoes.

I try to settle back in, observe the familiar things, and pay a lot of attention to the clamshells movement patterns along the riverbed.

Early autumn image harvest.

Some random photos I've taken at the countryside in August and September.

Critter encounter, the friendly kind.

One of those shots our folks have hundreds of, yet we always snap some more.

I watch other people working - again! Guest starring - neighbours' kitten - again!

Thwarting the rain, I keep some systems running.

I prepare for the arrival of Knux_V1, and set up a field-workstation.

I go for another foraging round, and get all motivational-speechy over some berries.

I cook up some (surprise-surprise!) jam.

So I have been playing ... (56). A short-ish session of Oblivion Lost.

During town runs I usually sneak in some quality time with the games my "orbital laptop" won't run. Even though I used up some of that time for Spaaaaaaace! in my latest visit, I also managed to set aside some moments to record a little bit of Oblivion Lost. This time I keep exploring the NPP2 level, and eventually decide to have a go at the previously-avoided teleporters (to add some challenge, I override my magical-quicksave-key-instinct, attempting to clear them all in one go).
It was a relatively short session, so here are all its episodes in a row. (And here is the whole playlist as usual.)

So I have been playing ... (55). A burst of FTL.

Out in the country, among my many other "orbital observations" and musings, I have dedicated quite some time to push on and on in FTL (Adv.Ed). When I first tackled the game on my "Homebase Mainframe" (i.e. my regular gaming desktop), I was barely able to meaningfully interact with the ingame controls and processes, and making it through the first sector meant a great struggle. Over here, on my modest laptop, I kept playing on 'normal' setting, and slowly made some progress, learning to read the HUD, getting a grasp of skills and choices, unlocking more gameplay options, and eventually breaching the frontier of final sector. So, in one of recent town visits, I fired up my engines of my main craft, and see if I could survive a little longer on harder difficulty. I had not planned to record that, but after a rather awesome in-game occurrence (I was granted Zoltan shields as a result of multi-step random encounter) decided to capture the experience after all.
Here is the whole play-session, divided into three episodes.

After another week in town, I record the changes in garden and the woods.

I wander farther along the river, and figure out the gravel road positioning.

I check on the potato progress and apply some compost matter.
