So I have been playing ... (104). Completing Dragonfall.

I shall exploit the header space to boost the signal of our GM's Gofundme campaign: https://www.gofundme.com/blueberrycreekrecovery

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As stated in the latest one-offs roundup, I'd put my playtime under strict limitations to give more priority for writing&editing time. Still, earlier this spring I snuck in some sessions to scratch an old itch: there was some unfinished business in Berlin. Just like with the first campaign, I had kept playing non-stop until quite late in the game, and taken a breather once I ran into a challenge that took more effort to resolve; the breather then grew into proper hiatus. Indeed, my last Dragonfall session before the break was over a year ago.

After failing to pick the most optimal save to continue from, I returned to the beginning of Apex Rising mission, dedicating some time to the trial-and-error (mostly error).

Off-world adventures at Benfleet base #3: a rally call for cavalry

Last summer, during my countryside stay, I hosted my writing partner/ gaming buddy Knux for some weeks. Besides posting a bunch of silly videos (here, here, here, here, and here), we also got a bunch of work done, pushing "Seeker" closer to release (well half of it anyway). Come autumn, it was time for another push, also I'd been plotting a retaliatory visit. Fast forwards to December, and here I am, a few timezones and centigrades off, digging into "Seeker's" final chapters, plotting world domination and perhaps some additional visits.

Our GM/ChaosNova universe co-founder needs help pulling his family through the winter, and we're boosting the signal of this distress beacon! (This isn't about purchasing tinsel or treating oneself with "something nice", this is about covering electrical bills and addressing frozen water pipes.)

Read about the whole matter in their Gofundme page.

Also - and I cannot stress this enough - WE FOUND A HORSE!

ED:

Also-also, check out our Shadowrun sessions where KT (i.e. the GM)  rains explosions, amnesia, and naked sledge-rides upon the crew:

Co-piloting Chaos Nova (22). Shadowrun September shorts.

Vaguely around Earth Occidental Standard Year 2014, the drift of interwebs lead my paths into collaboration course with Chaos Nova universe. I have since had the pleasure to dive into their forum-based space opera RPG, dispensing unsolicited advice about universe, life, and everything in the process. Once settled in the "writers' room" and comms all set up, I'd often join in for gameplay sessions too, sometimes just shout-along, but these days mostly active co-op.

After our last campaign ended with a bang, we didn't do much runnin' over summer. Now we've been activating little by little.

There's was this occasion where we test-run some semi-automated brawl mechanics with partial crew.

Co-piloting Chaos Nova (18). Shadowrun in Spaaaace! (conclusion)

[The copy-paste intro]
Vaguely around Earth Occidental Standard Year 2014, the drift of interwebs lead my paths into collaboration course with Chaos Nova universe. Since then I have chimed in on the forum-based space opera RPG, and dispensed counsel (unsolicited and otherwise) about passive voice, semicolons, and everything in the process. When not lounging about in the "writers' room", I'm often joining in the crew gameplay sessions. This here is one of those.

The previous session ended with such a cliffhanger. In these last sessions of Chaos Nova Shadowrun Space Adventure, all will be revealed! (There's a mini-cliffhanger between the two sessions, too!)

Check Knux's channel for all our session recordings.

Co-piloting Chaos Nova (17). Shadowrun tabletop in spaaace!

After our first campaign wrapped up, we headed to a space station for our next adventure.

So I have been playing ... (76). Dragonfall, session five.

This session started with resolving last time's cliffhanger: our crew pinned down in the Az-Tech pyramid, learning that we didn't have the means to directly tackle all the incoming goons ... nor the need, because the whole thing was set to blow anyway. (The latter we learned through experience.)

So I have been playing ... (72). Dragonfall, session four.

My last Dragonfall session had ended on a thoroughly cornered position. (If you're keeping an eye on my Wasteland 2 play, you might notice a bit of a pattern here.) I began recording this session somewhere in the middle of working that situation out.

Thursday, 4 February 2016

So I have been playing ... (70). Dragonfall, session three.

Here is the third session of my Dragonfall playthrough. This time I take my sweet time to dive into the semi-optional runs that are needed to raise funds for the main mission. By the end of the session I will have thoroughly cornered my team.

(Here's the whole playlist too.)

Co-piloting Chaos Nova (15). Shadowrun on tabletop continues.

Here are the two final sessions of the campaign that started in this post. (We have since had a follow-up gear-sorting session, and began a brand new campaign.)

So I have been playing ... (65). Dragonfall binge.

With a lot of Shadowrun in the air lately, I decided to add some Berlin into the mix. (My original plan had been to carry on right after completing Dead Man's Switch, but then other games came between.)
It's been a proper binge-playthorugh with all-night sessions and action points burned-into-retinae. I am also going to post it session by session.

Here's how it begins. (And here's the whole playlist.)

We've been doing weekly Shadowrun sessions over Skype and Teamspeak since November. Tonight's session will probably conclude once chapter and lead us into next one. Until then, the sessions so far (uncut, unedited):
