After a streak of articulate frustration I eventually broke out of the "is it not working because that's not how it works, or is it not working because I'm doing it wrong" cycle, and was able to interact with the big-bad-appendices in a meaningful manner (i.e. "shoot at it and cause damage"). In this sequence my main focus is to survive the turn, and figure out some tentacle logistics on the way. Or bug butt logistics. Technically.

So I have been playing... (43). Some progress in Shadowrun Returns.
After a streak of articulate frustration I eventually broke out of the "is it not working because that's not how it works, or is it not working because I'm doing it wrong" cycle, and was able to interact with the big-bad-appendices in a meaningful manner (i.e. "shoot at it and cause damage").
